Thank You!
To Everyone Who Was Involved With
 My Father, Mort Meskin,
Being Recognized and Inducted
Into the
Will Eisner Hall of Fame

At the Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards Ceremony
it’s not possible to thank everyone, so...

Here’s some of what I wanted to say about
these wonderful people in my and my father’s life:

I want to thank my best friend and wife, Diane, for encouraging me
all of these years to pursue my dream of public recognition for my father.

I also want to thank Steven Brower, a talented, kind and generous man,
Director of the "Get Your Masters with the Masters" MFA program
for educators and working professionals at Marywood University,
who made another dream of mine come true by writing the wonderful book,
From Shadow to Light: The Life and Art of Mort Meskin
and editing another book which is a sampling of my father’s art:
Mort Meskin: Out of the Shadows

Jerry Robinson, a family friend and a brilliant artist and advocate for artists
who was my father’s best, steadfast and lifelong friend.
Jerry and his charming wife Gro, let me and my brother, Phil,
crawl after their rabbit when were were children.
Delightful childhood memories.

Dylan Williams, another kind and creative soul,
for his pioneering research and for designing and maintaining
the first Mort Meskin website.

Jim Amash and Roy Thomas for dedicating an
entire issue of Alter Ego to Dad.
Jim Amash wrote a wonderful article interviewing
me and Philip, asking many perceptive and tactful questions
that brought out many aspects of my father’s life.

Gary Groth at Fantagraphics for publishing
Steven Brower’s two books dedicated to my father.
Ger Apeldoorn for keeping my father’s spirit alive on the web.

Finally, thank you to those of you who are Comic Book Artists,
to those of you who support and celebrate comic book artists...
...and to those of you who can say:
“My Daddy Draws Comic Books!”

The site is intended as an online gallery of the Life and Art of Mort Meskin, Golden Age Comic Book Artist and creator of a large body of advertising art, paintings, sketches and other fine art.

We will always be adding work to the gallery, so make sure to check back in for updates.
We would love to hear any input you have. Please contact us at captsail@verizon.net

This site was originally designed and maintained by Dylan Williams, to whom we are greatly indebted.  Peter Meskin, Mort's son, has now taken over the helm using much of what Dylan created.  (You'll note the personal comments throughout.)

A very special thanks to Steven Brower who is the talented author and designer of the just-published
From Shadow to Light: The Life and Art of Mort Meskin with Peter & Philip Meskin.  Steven has done tremendous research and conducted extensive interviews in creating his book.  In doing so, Steven has fulfilled a long-held dream of Peter's to honor his father and to showcase his father's great artistic talent.
