Mystery of the Calico Pony

I always thought of this as "my story" only because Dad said he named the boy "Pedro" for me.  It was one of the many stories with a moral to teach.  In this case "Be kind to animals" and "Crime doesn't pay."  It even has a bit of "Girls, if you want to get something out of a guy, use your feminine wiles."  That last, certainly not so popular today.
