I'd walk into Dad's studio to discover him working on something "totally new." There'd be a bunch of new paintings hanging on the wall or leaning against anything that would hold them. The amazing variety of styles, techniques and use of color was always a source of delight for me. You just never knew what direction Mort Meskin was going to explore with his art.
(As you've probably discovered, I'm not always sure how to categorize my father's art and there is certainly overlap of category when it comes to his paintings. A few of the images you find on this page might just as easily have gone into the "Paintings+" section and visa versa. In general, I've tried to keep the older, more classic style paintings in the "Paintings+" category.)
